Download Videos with YouTube- 3 concise steps
Too many plugins…too many techniques. For such a simple task at hand if you need to google and wade across ten pages, it shows how ugly the internet can get at times. Nevertheless if you landed here, lets get done in 3 steps.
The only assumption i make here is that you use Firefox- hey don’t blame me – you wanna keep it simple right? thats it im not presenting alternatives for IE, Opera, Safari…
Allright
1. Get UnPlug – A firefox plugin to rip off embedded video and audio on a page
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2254/
Once unplug is plugged (!) , you’ll get this fish symbol thingy to the right of your address bar. Click that on any YouTube page and you ll be presented with all the media to download. Normally finish the extension of the file you download with “.flv” [no you dont have to include quotes]
2. Get MPC- Media Player Classic
http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli
At the download page, locate the Media Player Classic section and download the appropriate one for yer Windows OS.No installation req, Unzip, paste anywhere
3. Get ffdshow
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow
during the installation remember:
* Select VFW interface component
* Select FLV1, VP5/VP6, MP3 in the additional tasks . maybe these are already selected. Im stating the minimum requirements
* Before finishing tick- Run video decoder configuration.
At Video Decoder Configuration: Make sure libavcodec is enabled for VP6F and FLV1
Run the file with MPC.
Thats all folks!
